The University of Western Sydney Medical Society (UWSMS) is the peak representative body for medical students at UWS.  The UWSMS was established in July 2007 with the aim of providing the students of UWS School of Medicine with an extra-curricular outlet and avenue for representation as an adjunct to life as a medical student.

Whilst UWSMS is less than 3 years old, we have made significant progress and achieved a great deal to enrich the many aspects of medical student life at UWS.

As a new medical school and an even newer Medical Society we recognise that the coming years for UWSMS are crucial for its long term development and sustainability and hope that with the support of the student member body we will continue to make significant inroads, progress & innovation in the areas of:

·       Student academic representation and advocacy

·       Member benefits- including our brand new Member Benefits Scheme

·       Community initiatives and awareness 

·       Charity & fund-raising

·       Social events 

I can't emphasise enough, that this is your society! As such the UWSMS is ready and waiting for your input to improve all aspects listed above. If there is anything else you think UWSMS should be doing, let us know! (See Suggestion Box)
